Strengthening cooperation between PRS and the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences

As a classification society, PRS conducts and promotes scientific research, including determining environmental conditions for the impact of the marine environment on ships and offshore structures and their behavior in marine environments. To broaden the scope of specialist analyses and more effectively fulfill its tasks and enhance service quality, PRS is strengthening its cooperation with the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

On February 14, 2025, the PRS Management Board signed a letter of intent to use the database developed under the CSI-POM project and to establish a foundation for closer scientific cooperation with the Ecohydrodynamic Processes Modeling Laboratory of the Institute. On behalf of the Institute, the letter was signed by Prof. Dr. Hab. Lidia Dzierzbicka-Głowacka, head of the laboratory, and on behalf of PRS by President Grzegorz Pettke and Proxy Adam Dunikowski. Both institutions will jointly study the marine ecosystem of Poland's Southern Baltic areas and the physical processes occurring in the marine environment, implementing agreed research projects and seeking funding.
